Title: Samsung i600 Ultra Messaging Thread
Category: WM5/WM6 Smartphones
Just got my Samsung i600 last week, been using it for 6 days without installing any third-party apps yet (well except SmartToolkit hehe). Just to make a pretty accurate impression of it's performance.

I started this thread to centralize any feedback, personal reviews/comments, tips/tricks/tweaks, and queries that members may have regarding this device.
I will be posting my comments here after a few days.
But initial reaction to this device are:
1) Very solid construction. Feels really really good in my hands. [:)]
2) Slim and very light.
3) The QWERTY thumb board took me just a little while to getting-used to. I never expected it would be comfortable for the average male digits like my thumb.
4) Never experienced any system hault/hanging, without installing third-party apps yet.
5) Among the usual stuff, package includes an additional extended battery and an external charger. The thing which i really appreciate with Samsung packaging.
6) Standard battery lasts me one-and-a-half days, with about 50-75 SMS usage, about 20 minutes calls, about 1 hour 3G/GPRS usage, about 30 minutes multimedia use (music/videos), and hours of "other stuff."
7) Extended battery lasts more than 2 days with the same usual usage. and using the extended battery doesn't render the unit too thick nor too heavy, it's still comparable to the average smartphone.
8 ) Lots of in-rom apps from Samsung, cool homescreens, especially the "card wheel" homescreen, really cool! [8D]
CD also includes PC software to do a back-up of your device files.
9) "Dummy-friendly." getting-started CD installs all necessary apps/drivers. You can use your device to connect your PC/laptop to the internet without having to configure anything. MMS/GPRS settings are fully automatic. Internet-sharing via USB or Bluettoth PAN is a breeze. I don't need to do or configure anything on my laptop. Very user-friendly indeed for a "dummy" like me. [:p] (I'm connected via Smart's 3G network in making this post :), walang HSDPA dito sa may house namin e :( )
10) One comment though, it took me one frustrating hour trying to figure out how to Hard Reset the device. Yun pala, nasa Settings>Security>Reset. haaay... hindi kasi nagbabasa ng manual! hehe [:p] <---- This is my first How-To post. [^] hehe [:D]
11) Samsung WMP10 skin has Spectrum Analyzer visualization. cool! [8D]

Binigay ko nga yung T-Mobile Dash ko sa asawa ko pero ganun din comment niya... "mukhang calculator." Pero kung i compare ko yung dalwang phones parang mas masarap gamitin yung keypad ng i600.
Maganda ba yung tactile feedback niya?

uy, i'm not trying to influence anyone ha? user preference lang yan. i'm just being factual on how i experience the device. hehe [:)]
pinagpipilian ko nga ang Graphite at ang i600. Hardware-wise, mukhang mas ok ang graphite. Pero, i went for the form factor, looks, built and over-all impact nung device. A smartphone is a smartphone, for me. Kaya, i didn't really went for the faster processor and better camera of the graphite. Instead, the sleek and sexy looks of the black i600 (kahit mukhang calculator sya o kaya bloke ng dark chocolate. hehe [:p] .) And, of course, the HSDPA. Moreover, i thought madami na ang may graphite, kaya i600 na lang para maiba naman. hehe [:D]

Wow! At last, nakahanap din ako ng i600 user d2, thanks greatBal for opening this new thread specifically related to this new Ultra i600 by Samsung.
Gamit ko din to ngayon dre, and what can I say, its very very cool to my hands, not unlike the Samsung i320N (eto gamit ko bago ako mag i600)... parang hiwa-hiwalay ung mga keys ng i320 pero sa i600, nagimproved, you will feel it pag hawak mo ung fone mo ..:) nadifferentiate ko xa kasi matagal ko ring gamit ung i320 .. :)
Anyways, here are my inputs pa bout this beautiful Smartphone i600:
* First of all, becoz of its WiFi facility, I can read all my favorite RSS feeds using the freeware NewsCopier without worrying my expenses if using a GPRS connection. Signal for WiFi is great kasi nakakabrowse pa rin ako kahit sa labas ng bahay nmin.
* Software installation is not a problem, haven't encountered pa a problem of installing softwares. Ung iba nga lang apps for Smartphone, hindi gumagana like yung sa mga games .. pero napagana ko ung MadBeetle, kakatuwa tong laro na to!
* Upgrading ROM is quite easy, i am using the new GC6, meron kasing PocketMSN un ... ung GC2 wala ..and also ung VoiceAssist kasama rin sa new ROM. If you like, i'll post the link for the new ROM and the instructions also. To go on BootLoader menu, just press Power+Right Hand Key+Camera Key simultaneously.
* VITO CopyPaste also works the usual way!
* Compare sa i320, ung i600 body is rubberized na, not unlike i320 mejo madulas, makintab.. =)
* Never ko pa nabubuksan yung CD/installer nya.. heheheh... tamad eh!
* yung 3G call nde ko pa nagagamit kaya nde ko pa alam kung nagwowork yung camera sa harap (eto lng naman ung function ng camera n to.. heheh)
* One caveat though, dun sa Battery cover, sobrang hirap buksan, grabe! lalo na pag pasmado kamay mo pero may napanood ako sa youtube ung alternative way ng pagbukas ng cover, not using yung nakalagay sa manual, pero ang hirap pa rin eh! heheh.. cguro dahil bago p lng ung fone ko ...
* Merong icon dun na Internet Sharing, nde ko alam kung para saan yun not until I discovered na when you're connected via USB/ActiveSynch, Internet Sharing will be active and you can browse the inet if your laptop/pc also have internet. When this happens, pansinin mo sa Wireless Manager mo, nwawala un WiFi, i think its becoz of this thing.
* CardWheel homescreen is definitely one of the cool stuff here. yung i320 wala nito, tsk tsk tsk!
* When pressing the home button for a long time, Task Manager will be displayed. Sa i320, when doing this, a Menu Manager will popup, I think mas maganda yung sa i320 na feature pagdating d2..
* pag Grid style yung gamit as menu display, dati sa i320, click mo pa ung More (left hand key) para sa next set of icons pero sa i600, optional na ung Click More kasi ung arrow down usable na rin parang sa Windows na rin xa.. Nice improvement from Samsung.. cguro marami nagfeedback sa i320 nito..
* yung battery nga pala ng i320 at i600 magkaiba, haay sayang! mejo malapad na ung sa i600.
* Pero pinalitan naman ng i600 ung Menu Manager ng i320 by assigning it to other button, To try this, you can long press and release the Wheel button on the right side of the phone and a "popup" will appear! This is actually cool too!
* Picsel Viewer is very usable coz it can cater different file formats upon opening esp PDF, DOC, XLS.
* PodCast is really a nice addition here..
* I haven't tried the RSS Reader to work, i think GPRS lang nakikita nyang connection? Im not sure though, kasi i tried using it while on WiFi pero not successfull kaya yung NewsCopier ang gamit ko for my RSS needs. Yoko kasi mahuli sa chikka sa PEP eh... hahahah!!!
* ung Camera nya compare sa i320, mas maganda ung sa i320, mejo bumagal yung movement sa i600, pansin ko lang ha..
HHmmm.. ano pa ba... aha eto pa...
* And also, gamit ko rin ung application mo, greatbal, ung gCalc!! wohoo!!! galing naman! nakabundle xa sa isang homescreen na gamit ko, ung homescreen for Facade, black Edition (apple-like) theme, grabe very sleek ung design ung theme! Gamit mo n rin b un?
what can i say? well, now i am contented with i600.

@crypto, may gCalc ako pero yung default skin lang. pahingi naman nyang HomeScreen mo na may gCalc skin, pa-try. yung i-phone skin ba yan? I donwloaded one theme for the PPC that has a bundled gCalc skin e. hehe [:p]
thanks for your comments. dami kong natutunan. especially yung pop-up link manager when you long-press the scroll wheel. hindi ko alam yun a! cool! [8D] [:D]
re internet sharing, i discovered that too. it's really "dummy-proof," as you don't have to configure anything else on your PC/laptop. Internet sharing via network ang labas nya, hindi dial-up networking. galing. [:)] I haven't tried internet sharing via BT PAN though. will try it some other time.
Dami ko pa dapat kalikutin dito, nga lang medyo busy pa. hehe [:)]
And, me too, i'm starting to love this device. It has so many add-on applications as compared to other WM SP's. Lalo na yung Card Wheel homescreen, grabe galing! [:)]

what capacity of microSD do you have in your i600? any feedback in using a 2gb microSD? i'm using 1gig lang e. daling mapuno. kala ko hindi ko kayang punuin. Ganda kasi ng WMP10 Samsung skin. May Spectrum Analyzer visualization that works! galing! [8D]

anybody knows how to maually disconnect the GPRS connection? everytime i use GPRS or internet sharing, i had to use wireless manager to turn-off the phone function and on again, just to disconnect gprs. pasensya na po, newbie lang. hehe [:p]

In Wireless Manager, Choose Menu>Disconnect Cellular Data.

i dont have any problems using a 2GB Kingston microSD on my i600, it behaved perfectly well on my daily usage. =)
oo nga, naisip ko n rin yan before ko bilhin ung 2GB ko, pinagisipan ko kung 1gb ba or 2gb... it turns out na buti n lng 2gb nabili ko kc ngayon 400MB na lang xa! heheheh.. tama ka.. ang saya nga makinig at manood sa WM10, ung analyzer/visualization nya, it rocks! compare to i320 normal lng sa knya..
pati rin pla ung incoming call sa i600, cool din ung animation on the background... at least nde tensyonado pag ung tumatawag eh ung picture ng boss mo... heheheh..

i dont have yet any experience in using a GPRS connection kasi prepaid lng ako and mga unlitxt lng ako nakasubscribe ngayon... :)
would you try to long press the Home button and disconnect from there? just a hinch though...

Thanks for the replies. I already tried everything i know from my past experiences on HTC devices such as long-press of the End Call button or the Home button. Also, Data Connection in the Wireless Manager is not included. [:(]
I'll look for a third-party app to do that na lang. Or, do some research and make my own. good luck! hehe [:p]

re animated background sa incoming/outgoing calls screen, ang galing nga. at tama ka, menos tensyon pag boss mo na ang tumatawag! [laugh]

There are lots and lots of homescreen stuff there that are way way too cool!!! Especially homescreen for WM6. Too bad, Samsung i600 wont be included on WM6 ROM upgrade banner :(

Internet Explorer now uses live.com
The new Samsung i600 smartphone now sports the new default page for Internet Explorer, it now uses the m.live.com (or in Windows Desktop, www.live.com) as its default with matching Favorites and History as expandable pane. Really cool stuff!
Samsung i320 on the other hand doesn't have this new feature.
Just like to share to others what changes been made on this smartphone model. [:)]

it's not that i use a lot of java games or apps. but, i particularly like and need the gmail java app. [:(]
anybody knows of a third party java client that works with i600, or any landscape devices, for that matter?

yup, this is a drawback for most users who still uses some Java apps to run in their i600.
i600 doesn't support JVM (java) and Macromedia Flash, <sigh> ..
You need the GMail java app? sa akin naman, ok na ko sa GMail mobile running on Internet Explorer :)

Running Java (GMail) apps on Samsung i600
After tinkering and pulling my hair to make Java GMail application to work on my i600, I finally managed to dig deeper to make it work on my handset! :) And with this, i'd like to share how I did it ...
IBM release a JVM emulator for Windows Mobile Smartphone which is freely downloadable on their website, registration is required though. Follow this link for the file download: http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/download/search.jsp?go=y&rs=weme&S_PKG=dl61&S_CMP=rnav.
The file (.EXE) comes with a documentation on getting the files on mobile device (pretty straighforward).
Then fire up your Internet explorer and download the GMail application via http://www.google.com/app
That's it! Java GMail is working on your Samsung i600!
For simplicity, I uploaded necessary files to my Rapidshare account, please feel free to download the file.

After following the install guide on the RAR file, make sure you now have the J9 (emulator) icon on your handset :)
This method is also applicable to other models (i think) that do not sport a JVM that come pre-installed on their handset. Just try it, it wont hurt your mobile phone. :)

Installed IBM MIDP and gmail, perfect! i couldn't ask for anything else on my i600. Although gmail has a POP mail support, i still prefer the gmail java app's interface.

For 3rd party applications, most will work as long as the software support is Smartphone Windows Mobile 2005, QVGA, landscape .. tingnan mo lng yang mga keywords na yan sa mga software Requirements and Im sure you'll install those successfully.
Or better yet, if you look at Handango.com, they will tell you what compatible devices the product you selected is supported (sleek!)

If you like experimenting on your handset, try also upgrading your ROM (xxxGC2) to xxxGC6. On this upgrade, camera shot/viewing is improved. Faster loading time also for applications.
And if you like to make your WM5 looks like WM6 interface, then just replace some DLL's and you're good to go [:)]
If you like to tweak your handset, just back it up first using a backup tool like Sprite in case your tweak didn't work.
What else can i say? im just lovin' it!!!

Anyway, to Hard Reset your Blackjack, follow this steps:
1. Power off your phone.
2. If you have microSD inserted, remove it to avoid data loss on the Storage Card.
3. With the phone off, just long press the Up Navigation key and the Power key simultaneously.
4. Phone will ask if you like to format the Phone, Select 1 - YES!
5. Done.

These past few days kasi minsan "the page cannot be found" sinasabi nya. Ang tagal nyang " Locating...".
Operator settings ko naka-SMART naman and before ok naman connection ko.

Pag sa WiFi kasi, sineset ko sa "Work" yung Connections ko under ng Tools\Options then Connections.
Pag sa 3G/GPRS, try mo set sa "Internet".

i'm using Smart post-paid sim. i never experienced any problem yet connecting. i live in QC area, and frequents Ortigas area. Ok naman ang 3G connection ko.
Saan ba area mo? baka naman dahil lang sa area of coverage lang yan?
or, as a last resort, go to Settings > Operator Settings. Choose either Globe or Sun. Press DONE. Then ulitin mo lang, but this time choose Smart. Para lang baka ma-reset ang settings for Smart. baka naman may nabago ka lang sa GPRS/WAP/MMS settings mo e. try mo lang...

now i see that my newly-acquired 2nd hand Samsung is Model i607, a special cut-down US version of the i600 without the 2nd cam and wifi. It is I might say an enhanced i320. It is also factory set to Cingular's proprietary websites. Though open line, I can't seem to make the internet connection work and failed to test its HSDPA capability.
Might as well sell it na lang siguro. Same thing happened last month with my Z370 which I sold after only two weeks of testing.
Will a ROM upgrade/downgrade work just to remove Cingular's traces in my unit?

After 72 hours of playing with d i600, it never hangs or soft reset, battery life ko sa standard bat is only 8 hours, while the extended bat is 12 hours but online sya 24/7 using HSDPA, 3G, EDGE and GPRS, havent tested the wifi yet, medyo nahirapan pa ako sa qwerty dahil virgin pa ako sa qwerty keyboard.
Saludo na ako sa i600, even if i open so many apps di sya nag hang even once.
Di ko lang magamit ang Fagev Mobile Chat dahil naka landscape ang i600.

Turn off 3G
* Battery life (or lack there of) - This phone actually has a pretty decent battery, when it’s not using 3G. So when I don’t need it, I simply turn is back to EDGE. Here’s the trick:
1.Dial *#1546792*#
2.Hit 3
3.Then 5
4.Select GSM
5.Hit Done
6.Then end
When it goes back to the home screen give it a couple seconds, the phone will revert to EDGE only. I normally get 2-3 days now on a charge, and just change it back to 3G when it’s hooked up to my laptop.
As an alternative create a shortcut in \windows\start menu to \windows\adminsettings.exe. adminsettings.exe give the same menu as the number above.
* Easier way
1.Start
2.Settings
3.Phone
4.All calls
5.Band choice
6.Select GSM
To switch back to UMTS select WCDMA in last step.
Or if your are using xbar just paste a link of adminsettings.exe to Program files\xbar3\start.

hey guys, i got a quick question, i'm planning on getting this phone, pinagipipilian ko kasi ung Nokia E61i or Samsung i600. So far mas bilib ako dito, tsaka based sa mga nabasa ko, mukhang ok talaga to.
1. i love listening to music, kamusta naman and sound quality sa headset? sayang lang inde siya ung standard 3.5mm jack.
2. battery life? matagal ba siya? has anyone tested batt life with and without 3G? how bout with the extended batt.

almost lahat naman ng samsung handset, proprietary ung headphones kaya pag nasira tlagang mahirap maghanap.
What I dont like about this phone, sa mismong phone wala pero sa Samsung meron, kasi before I used Samsung I320N before magkaron ako ng i600, since pareho sila ng form factor, i thought compatible ung battery nila pero hindi pala, mejo lumaki ung size ng battery ng i600 compare sa i320 ko.
so far, my experience with my unit is happy pa rin ako that I chose this model. [:)]

solution to "problem" #1 (downside of proprietary port):
i bought a headset adapter at St Francis Square (P150, natawaran ko ng P120 hehe). With it, i can use any earphone/headphone i want because it converts it to a standard headphone jack. And what's good about it is that it has a mic so i can still answer/make calls even when using my Sony earphones (may buds, kaya astig ang sounds hehe [:p].)
kaya, proprietary port nga, pero cheap lang naman yung mga adapters na available sa market. kaya, pwede na. hehe

@greatbal, galing! pero lam ko naman me mabibili talaga na adapter, basta maayos yung sound quality ok na ko, inde kelangan suer ganda, basta ung decent enough. mura a, 120. haha.
dumaan ako kanina sa samsung outlet, kasi pwde mo demo yung phone nila, medyo sluggish yung dating sa kin nung i600, naka card style siya, pinalitan ko HS ganun pa din, me delay ng mga 1.5sec or more sa lahat ng ginagawa. ung scroll medyo mabagal din.
although inisip ko naman, baka dahil demo ung unit, tsaka madami na din naglaro dun sa phone kaya nagkaganun. anyway, sinabi ko naman dun sa nagbabantay, un din sinabi sa kin, pag ung binebenta na unit na daw, mabilis na. sabi ko nman na pagbili ko tapos mabagal ung unit babalik ko. haha, di na ko makaantay!!! gusto ko na bumili!!!
napansin ko, medyo maliit nga ung screen, parang di ko mapicture gamitin mag surf sa ganun kaliit na screen. ganda nung keyboard, nung quality nung screen pati nung cam! ganda din nung build, halatang nalaspag na ung unit pero wala pa ko makita na damage, puro smudges lang.
sana lang talaga inde mabagal. [:D]

i figured, you haven't used any other smartphones from HTC like SAP1, SAP2, Xphone2, Tornado. I used those four devices in the past 4 years, and if i were to compare the performance as in responsiveness, best pa din ang i600. Screen naman, mas malaki ang sa i600 kesa dun sa tatlo, 2.3" vs 2.2".
Yung mabagal ang response, baka nga sa demo unit lang nila. kasi mabilis naman yung sakin, yung cardwheel at scroll wheel very responsive naman.
But if you really want a device for surfing the net, better get a PPC instead of a smartphone. good luck in deciding. [:)]

i see. yup, haven't tried those phones, although napaglaruan ko O2 ng kaklase ko, di ko trip kasi ung pure touchscreen, laki pala agwat nitong phone na to sa iba mong nagamit, ayus! [;)]
inde, eto na napili ko, gaya ng sabi ko nung una, medyo mukhang calculator, inde mo maiicp na siya pinakamaangas na phone, pero yung features, ok sa kin, sinagot na kanina ni lopio ung sa sound, sabi nya ok naman, yung battery life din. tsaka gusto ko din try qwerty na keyboard.
inde ko naman talaga kelangan ng pang surf na unit, kelangan ko lang ung makakapag online ako pag kelangan ko. plus ok din na pwde siyang modem.
baka nga dahil sa demo unit, kasi ung mga videos sa youtube mukhang responsive siya, tsaka sa pagkwekwento nya ganun din ang dating.

i upgraded my i600 to xxxGC6 ROM version with no problem at all, all Versions are ALL GC6 in the end of it.
What procedures you made prior to upgrading? If you tell more maybe we can help/assist you further.
@lopio, this is not an upgrade for WM6 yet, higher version lng po ng ROM for speed performance and others.

woo hoo! ang cool nitong i600, hehe. medyo naninibago pa ko sa keyboard, pero no big deal. haha.
yung card wheel na HS ok nga. ganda. [:D]
wifi, chicken feet i-configure, nalilito lang ako nung una. although medyo mahirap nga magsurf, pero alam ko din na di ginawa ung phone para mag net, pag kelangan mo lang talaga, which is good enough for me.
no hangs and restarts yet. ok din batt life, pero syemps pinatay ko 3G ko.
ang ayaw ko lang sa ngyn e ung cam, natatakot ako na magasgas ko. haha, praning praning kasi sa pagiingat ng mga gamit.
pero all in all, ok yung experience, kelangan ko na lang maghanap ng apps na pwde ko lagay dito.

bai hindi ka naka pasok sa wifi and nag automatic connect to gprs, di kaya mahina signal ng wifi dyan? para di sya automatic mag connect sa gprs mo, change your gprs setting sa gprs internet, palitan mo lang muna ang APN ng anything like for example www.airfagev.com para di sya maka connect sa gprs and start charging.

How to backup contacts without using 3rd party backup program.
1. Use resco explorer and rename pim.vol on your phone.
2. Reboot
3. A new pim.vol would be created, if u check ur contacts its all gone. use resco again and copy the rename pim.vol to ur micro sd.
4. Now rename again pim.vol to another filename, and rename the first rename pim.vol back to pim.vol and reboot.
5. Now check ur contacts and its back, now u can delete the 2nd rename pim.vol.
6. To restore contacts if u do a hard reset, simply rename the pim.vol to any filename, and go to ur backup pim.vol from micro sd and copy paste it to my device and reboot. now u have ur contacts back. dnt forget to delete the rename one to save space.
This is good when you are on the road and need to do a hard reset.

Nakakpasok ako dito pero pag nag lolocate na ang WM player ko, parating nag error. "Server is bussy or not responding, Try again later" ang lumalabas.[:(]
Napansin ko rin pag naka Smart operator settings ako, walang 'Streaming Proxy' at 'GPRS Streaming' settings sa Connections. Hindi tulad pag nasa Globe operator settings,
merong 'myGlobe Streaming Proxy' at 'myGlobe Streaming' sa GPRS. Bili muna Globe sim para masubukan ito.[:X]

i tried scissors but i'm still not able to COPY/PASTE using the built-in NOTEPAD program of my i600. any solution to this? i simply want a notepad program that is able to COPY/PASTE. know of any (free) 3rd-party notepad program that works flawlessly with the i600?

Help!!!! ito ang problema ko, yung laptop namin nag broadcast ng wifi p2p, if i turn on my wifi naka connect ako but cant browse any page, if shampoo connects her laptop to the other laptop, then i can browse or if bloodaxe connects his wizard to the laptop i can browse, but if ako lang mag connect i cant browse. any1 can explain why?

Need help lang po. I now using a prepaid Smart sim. Then I tried to use a Sun sim and I can't make a call and txt. May configuration pa ba kong mag change ako nga sim?
Original pa WM5 and OS ng Samsung i600 ko. Wala na man akong problema using Smart Sim.
Pag naka insert yung Sun sim, full bars naman ang signal. Tried ko sa xphoneII ko yung Sim, ok naman sya. nakakapag txt and call ako.

guys, gustong gusto ko na bumili ng Samsung i600[:D][;)][:(], and may WM6 upgrade na rin pala siya. I read kasi sa mga reviews na its using the WM5 smartphone version so its not capable of editing WORD or EXCEL files. Pag nag upgrade ba sa WM6 does it include na ba Office Mobile or viewer lang din? I have a 3-day old I600. So far, everything is going on smoothly except for one thing. I bought a Kingston 2GB MicroSD and even though my PC can detect it, my I600 can't whenever I insert it into the slot.
I've tried to backtrack the thread and I can't seem to find anything related to my problem. I can't format the MicroSD using the device since it cannot be detected though I can format it using my PC. Advice? Suggestions please.

correct si pitbull, format it with your pc using a pc through a card reader, if wala ka card reader, try ur samsung, go to settings/connection/usb and change it from active sync to mass storage then connect your phone to active sync, then check my computer if u can see a new drive, if meron, right click on the removable drive then format.

@ pitbullll & lopio: thanks for the advice guys. all the while i was trying the microSD in my laptop and it was showing a +/- 1GB capacity even though its a 2GB microSD. i re-installed the CD in another PC then tried out Lopio's advice. Voila!
i've read in some forums that there is some difference when you plug in your microSD in laptop vs computer. anyway, that's a post for another thread [:)]

While in Inbox listview, type a name or a word and the list is automatically filtered to show messages with matching name sa sender/recepient and sa body nung message.
with thousands of messages in my Inbox, i find this feature convenient and cool! [:)]
WM6 lang ba 'to? i didn't notice this while running on WM5. now lang na WM6 na ang rom ng i600 ko.

i only have outlook express (company laptop). and usually in our company our schedules are based on lotus notes (automatic updating by the system if there are meetings etc) so its easier if i can sync straight to lotus notes.

inhouse warranty means it the shop that gives warranty and its not sanction by samsung. its a grey phone, meaning it was imported from other countries. ok lang yan if minor lang ang defects but if your phone has major problem, dyan na problema mo.

kakagaling ko lang po sa phone shop na pinagtanungan ko po nung i600.
sabi wala daw sila in house warranty and from samsung daw po talaga yung warranty.
i asked more about the price and discount. ginagamitan ko ng charms si ate na nag entertain sakin *naks haha*
sabi nya eh kakababa lang daw ng price about a week ago. it was priced 20k daw dati before the price drop so hinde nya ako mabibigyan ng cash discount. Though pwede daw in kind like a samsung bag. So i just kept a number of their shop nalang. Maybe sa kanila nalang ako bibili in case.
Do you think guys na malapit na siya i phase out kaya nag mura? hehehe

i'm using Jeyo Mobile Companion 2.0 on my PC. from there i can create messaging folders wherein i can save important messages on my i600. i don't know of any app yet that you can use to create messaging folders directly on your smartphone. try mo yung Jeyo na lang muna. google/yahoo search mo lang. it's not free, but you can try it and if you like it, you can buy a registration code. [:)]

meron nga po pati crystal case meron kaso nahirapan kami tanggalin ayun nagsgas ng tita ku. nagtanung naku case yun harap lang 800-900 daw. ok lang sana kasi pag nokia new original case dati ng n80 5k cncingil sakin. pero mey service charge daw na 500. grabe naman. wala bang mey alam po san pede magpapalit ng case na masmura yun service charge para case lang bblhin ku sa samsung. hndi panaman ko ngayon papalitan dahil ang liit lang sobra ng tapias kaso pag dumami pa yan papalitan kuna. ayku kasi ng hndi scratchless gadgets ko haha kaso mga humihiram minsan hndi naiingatan.

if you buy the leather case for extended bat, puede mo rin gamitin sa std bat. kaya lang maluwag sya, but if you buy for slim bat, di puede sa extended bat, yung nakita mo sa website exactly the same yung leather case, what you see is what you get.

yep, kayang-kaya ang flv files. hilig ko mag-download sa YouTube e! kaya may mga flv files ako sa i600 ko. hehe [:p]
definitely mas malinaw ang screen ng i600 kesa sa SAP1. hehe. rsolution nya kasi e 320x240 as compared to SAP1 na 176x220 lang.
tama yung balita mong price range as of now.

Hirap pala maghanap ng phone na ito. I came from greenhills yesterday to canvas on this phone. Wala akong nakitang kahit isang gray market unit nito. In fact, a lot of the sellers did not even know of this phone. Considering the popularity of the phone in this forum, I just thought probably meron ring nabebenta na gray market. Furthermore, one of the few who knew of the model told me na di daw mabenta kaya phase-out (I guess their way of saying di na sila nagpapapasok) na raw yung model. Anyway, the Samsung Philippines model of the i600 ranges from 20,500 to 24,000.
Does anyone here know of anyone in the gray market selling this model and how much they are selling it for? Thanks.

Hi Guys, i just got my i600 phone and I'm happy about it - besides the few features I miss from my old O2 atom. I didn't realize that there are a lot of features (such as notepad synchronization) that would be missing or limited on a Smartphone. I have a lot of questions and inquiries though;
* I am using my phone on POP e-mail. Though I still haven't bought a memory card for my phone, I just download the headers my POP3 emails over wifi and read the important ones only. Howcome whenever I synchronize my POP3 emails only the new ones appear? Is there a setting somewhere where all downloaded and read emails will be kept unless deleted?
* If I already have my memory card installed, is there a setting to have POP3 downloaded emails stored on the memory card? Just so i wont worry with running our of storage on my phone.
* The Tasks would only allow me to set it as completed. Is there a way for me to edit existing and even new tasks?
* Is there anyone using Documents To Go on their i600?
*Is there anyone using Smartphonenotes v2.1 on their i600?
* Any suggestions on where to get leather cases or sleeves for the i600?

mga gurus pa tulong naman po sana..
nag lagay ako ng "my documents" folder sa storage card, and dun nakalagay yung mga mp3 files ko para pwedeng maging ringtone
ok naman siya for the past 2 months. pero last week nag hard reset ako ng phone...so after ko binalik mga files ko, gumawa uli ako ng 'my documents' folder sa storage card. pero ngayon, pinipilli na ng phone ko yung mga mp3 files.
hindi na lahat pwedeng maging ringtone.
meron ba kong kulang gawin?
btw, samsung i600 gamit ko. wm5.0
addit'l info:
sa file explorer, pag pumunta ko sa mga music files ko (mp3.wma,etc) yung ibang mp3 files "unknown" yung icon niya. yung iba naman, windows media player yung file.
iniisip ko baka kelangan lang gawan ng file association. pero hindi ako marunong...

I'm using WM6 Rom. And i remember using that TCPMP version too when i had WM5 rom on my i600.
Try mo lang reinstall ulit. cab file lang naman yung installer nun e.
